Gal 5:1

“For freedom Christ has set us free. Stand firm, therefore, and do not submit again to a yoke of slavery.”

Jesus wasn’t crucified for a religion, He gave His life to provide us THE way to have an eternal relationship with Father God.

Religion - The definition of “religion” can be traced back to the Latin “re” and “ligare”.  RE meaning “again”, and LIGARE  meaning “to bind”. To return to bondage.

Religion will only stress you out and you will always feel distant from God. You’ll never do enough in the eyes of religious people. Religion actually robs you of your peace with God. “The ‘do more be more so you’ll be okay with God’s gospel.”

Can you think of any relationship that would be considered a good one if you never knew the status of it?

John 8:36 says, who the Son sets free is free indeed! 2 Corinthians 3:17 states, Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. These verses provide security and a permanent status of your relationship in Jesus Christ.

If you leave church Sunday with a list of things to do to earn God’s love, favor, and blessings, you have just been fed law and religion. Every message should point you to Jesus Christ and your permanent identity in Christ by your faith in His finished work on the cross. You can’t add to a finished work. Choose to walk in freedom today knowing that you can’t earn a gift. Ephesians 2:8 says,
For it is by free grace (God’s unmerited favor) that you are saved (delivered from judgment and made partakers of Christ’s salvation) through [your] faith. And this [salvation] is not of yourselves [of your own doing, it came not through your own striving], but it is the gift of God;

If you are not saved or know someone that isn’t saved and what I mean by saved is believe that Jesus Christ is Lord and Savior please follow the ABCs of salvation below by repeating.

Accountability- say, Dear God, I am a sinner,

Believe, I believe Jesus Christ is the son of God and that he died for all of my sins, past, present, and future and finished the work on the cross.

Confess - I believe that you resurrected from the grave on the 3rd day and confess you as Lord and Savior of my life. Heavenly Father thank you for sending Jesus to die in my place and I am now the Righteousness of God through Christ Jesus.

After this, simply believe it in your heart.
