“I Love You” Part 2: Prophesy

1 Cor 14:1

“Pursue love, yet earnestly desire spiritual gifts, but especially that you may prophesy.”
‭‭

Yesterday the focus was on love. Defining it. Understanding its purpose and how to walk in it. Today we focus on spiritual gifts. It’s says desire spiritual gifts, especially that you may prophesy.

What is it to prophesy?

From Mariam Webster

1
: to utter by or as if by divine inspiration
2
: to predict with assurance or on the basis of mystic knowledge
3
: PREFIGURE

These days people are in a rush to name themselves something and be great. Prophet so and so. Apostle so and so. Evangelist so and so. I get it. We as people long for attention. We all want to be great. With that comes all the titles. Is it out of love? Who knows? Not for me to decide. But one thing you can’t deny is giving someone a word and it doesn’t come to pass when they say it will. That can mean one of two things, you’re false a prophet and you were deceived or we don’t have the full picture yet.

1 Cor 13:9 For we know in part, and we prophesy in part.10 But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away.

Our job as believers when someone gives us a “word” is to test it. We do that by going to the scripts. 1 Thes 5:20 Do not despise prophecies. 21 Test all things; hold fast what is good. 22 Abstain from every form of evil. I have had words spoken over me in the past. Did they come to pass? Not at all. A prophecy is not dependent on the actions of others, it’s a guarantee. No matter what. Not if you do this or do that. That’s a self help guide lol! A guy came out and said he had seen the Lord. Brother Joshua. (In a vision or a dream! My brother with get that joke.) He said Jesus appeared and said no World Cup 2026 and that He would rapture His church the 23rd and 24th of September 2025. Did I believe him? Yes. Did many believe him. Yes. Did it resonate with my spirit. Yes. The week or two before my brother had told me about his dream he had from the Lord. He told him, “no birthday next year. No Christmas. No Thanksgiving.” He said the Lord was making it seem like Labor Day is your last holiday on earth. I felt him. I don’t trust too many people but i trust my brother. So I took him at his word and ran with it. It’s been He’s coming ever since. Then we got on to brother Joshua and it really resonated. Many people came out saying they had dreams confirming the dates also. It wasn’t hard to believe him because I was already on that from my brother. I even start to have rapture dreams. With these type of things it’s good to have wisdom. People were selling their houses and belongings. Going to the extreme. (I was already planning on quitting my job and selling my house to go to flight school. Don’t get it twisted. We use wisdom over here lol.) So when it didn’t happen people came out the wood works mocking and scoffing. Unbelievers of course but believers too. I didn’t like that energy too much. Not because he was wrong and I believed him, but because we Christians and it’s a way to do things in love. When it didn’t happen was I disappointed? Yes. Did I lose peace or joy? No. It still was a peaceful calm about the situation as if we didn’t have all the info. I’m still holding on to the belief He’s coming. And that will be soon. And to brother Joshua, I still support. It takes a man to come out not caring about the back lash he would receive. 1 billion percent! I respect that confidence. Did he see the Lord? I believe he did and we will see in some days from now. But til then test all things and do not despise prophesies. He’s coming

If you are not saved or know someone that isn’t saved and what I mean by saved is believe that Jesus Christ is Lord and Savior please follow the ABC’s of salvation below by repeating.

Accountability- say, Dear God, I am a sinner,

Believe- I believe Jesus Christ is the son of God and that he died for all of my sins, past, present, and future and finished the work on the cross.

Confess- I believe that you resurrected from the grave on the 3rd day and confess you as Lord and Savior of my life. Heavenly Father thank you for sending Jesus to die in my place and I am now the Righteousness of God through Christ Jesus.

“that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭10‬:‭9‬ ‭

After this, simply believe it in your heart.
