1 John 4:10,19
“In this is love, not that we loved God but that he loved us and sent his Son to be the atoning sacrifice for our sins. We love because he first loved us.”
“God and love are synonymous. Love is not an attribute of God, it is God; whatever God is, love is.”
-Oswald Chambers
Do you realize the phrase, the disciple whom Jesus loved, is only found in the Gospel of John? Did you also know that John is actually saying that about himself? Rather than a title of status, or a title of disciple, John chose to identify as being loved by Christ.
What came from knowing that Jesus loved him rather focusing on his love for Jesus as Peter did? Well, John was the only disciple that knew who betrayed Jesus at the last supper. (John 13:23-26) John was also at the cross when Jesus gave up his spirit and took Jesus’ mother into his home. (John 19:26-27) When Jesus appeared on the Sea of Galilee after his resurrection, John was the first to recognize Him. (John 21:7)
Lastly, John outlived all the other disciples and received the book of Revelation on the Island of Patmos.
Psalm 139:14 assures you that you are fearfully and wonderfully made. God uniquely created you out of love. Beyond knowing that God loves everyone, please know that God LOVES YOU!
“Though our feelings come and go, God’s love for us does not.” - C.S. Lewis
If you are not saved or know someone that isn’t saved and what I mean by saved is believe that Jesus Christ is Lord and Savior please follow the ABCs of salvation below by repeating.
Accountability- say, Dear God, I am a sinner,
Believe, I believe Jesus Christ is the son of God and that he died for all of my sins, past, present, and future and finished the work on the cross.
Confess - I believe that you resurrected from the grave on the 3rd day and confess you as Lord and Savior of my life. Heavenly Father thank you for sending Jesus to die in my place and I am now the Righteousness of God through Christ Jesus.
After this, simply believe it in your heart.
I’m So Free!!!
