Genesis 6:1,8
“Now it happened, when men began to multiply on the face of the land, and daughters were born to them, But Noah found favor and grace in the eyes of the Lord.”
The saying "God helps those who help themselves" does not come from the Bible. The specific English phrase was first written by Algernon Sidney in the late 1600s and later popularized by Benjamin Franklin in his Poor Richard's Almanac in the 1700s.
What the Bible actually says in (2 Corinthians 12:10) is, That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. FOR WHEN I AM WEAK, THEN I AM STRONG. The favor of the Lord is stronger than your own personal strength.
The first time favor is mentioned in the Bible is (Genesis 6:8). The tip in that verse is actually the name of Noah. The name Noah means "rest," "comfort," or "repose". It is of Hebrew origin, deriving from the word "Noach". It basically reads, REST found favor or grace.
This world tells you that it’s all about doing, that it’s about hustle culture, grinding, getting to it and everything else that is the opposite of rest. This is what one should expect from a fallen world ruled by Satan. You will find the phrase, “fear not” hundreds of times throughout the Bible so you know how important it is that the word says but you SHOULD FEAR not entering into His rest.
Rest is the greatest display of faith! Rest in His love for you, rest in his protection, rest in his divine timing over your life. Even John the Baptist who was known for his go get it attitude understood, He must become greater and greater, and I must become less and less. (John 3:30)
Everyone wants to DO something great for God, rest in Him and flow with the Holy Spirit. Jesus had appointed times with people ensure you are flowing with the Holy Spirit and take that cape off!
If you are not saved or know someone that isn’t saved and what I mean by saved is believe that Jesus Christ is Lord and Savior please follow the ABCs of salvation below by repeating.
Accountability- say, Dear God, I am a sinner,
Believe, I believe Jesus Christ is the son of God and that he died for all of my sins, past, present, and future and finished the work on the cross.
Confess - I believe that you resurrected from the grave on the 3rd day and confess you as Lord and Savior of my life. Heavenly Father thank you for sending Jesus to die in my place and I am now the Righteousness of God through Christ Jesus.
After this, simply believe it in your heart.
I’m So Free!!!
